Coordination and Partnerships in Employment and Human Services Transportation

This research will incorporate focus group results and other research to be used in sharing information, education, online resources and other resources to be used in the development and operation of partnerships between employers and human services transportation.

Objective:

To synthesize best practices on planning, financial and operating partnerships and models of coordination among stakeholders in employment and human services transportation.

Strategy:

Using methods such as focus groups, surveys and site visits, develop:

  1. Profiles of successful planning partnerships
  2. Inventory what works and what does not work in planning, financial and operating partnerships
  3. Indicators for monitoring the performance of partnerships
  4. Provide material to non-transportation organizations who would like to participate in partnerships and avail of the benefits of coordination
  5. Web-based tools and technologies such as mapping techniques and Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS) to better inform non-transportation stakeholders of the opportunities for riders in their areas
  6. Online course on employment and human services transportation partnerships and coordination.

Expected Results or Products:

Final reports and a web-based course on employment and human services transportation partnerships and coordination.
