About

Manaswinee Kar is currently a post-doctoral research associate at the Urban Transportation Center, University of Illinois Chicago. She has obtained her Ph. D. from the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Her research is in the "Transportation Engineering" specialization of Civil Engineering. She has typically worked on the planning of park-and-ride facilities around metro stations. She has published eight research publications in eminent peer-reviewed journals namely, Transport Policy, Journal of Urban Planning and Development ASCE, Transportation Research Record, Case Studies on Transport Policy, Sustainable Transport and Livability, Journal of Institute of Town Planners, India. Alongside, she has presented over 15 research papers in peer-reviewed national (CTRG, UMI, SUMo) and international conferences (TRB, WCTR, Urban Transitions, TIPCE, ICUSE). Her broad research interests include Transportation Planning, Sustainable Transportation, First-mile Connectivity, Urban Parking Management, Travel Behavior Analysis, Park-and-ride Planning, Facility Location Planning, Service Quality Evaluation, Public Transportation, Econometric Modeling.
